Cherries, Crows and Duck Duck Goose: The Art Behind Our Designs

Our Armchair Expert collection has sixteen designs, and most of them hide a joke. Here's what is printed on each one, so you can find the piece that's yours.

Which designs are all about cherries?

The cherry is the Armcherries' fruit, and it shows up a lot.

• Dancing Cherries: two cartoon cherries with big eyes, strutting arm in arm among sparkles, over the show's name in brush script.
• Arm Cherry: the same pair on the front, and Arm in script over a big red CHERRY on the back.
• Cherry Sketch: a scratchy pair of cherries drawn in one bold red, small on the front and big on the back.
• Cherry on Top: a glossy cherry stamped AE in a retro sticker panel.

What about the crow, the cherries and the mouse?

This little trio turns up again and again. Crow Cherry Mouse draws them in fine golden lines. Really Great Station and Atelier put them in an oval badge with the line A REALLY GREAT STATION, and AE Crow perches a crow with cherries in its beak on the show's initials.

Which ones are pure in-jokes?

• Duck Duck Goose: two ducklings and a goose, no words needed.
• Robot: a waving robot on a mat that says WELCOME three times.
• Cookie Boy: two chocolate-chip cookies standing in for the O's.
• Reverse Back: RE-VERSE BACK on the front and the back, so it reads right either way.
• Lmted Edish: a fancy serif joke about the limited-edition drop.
• ABR Cowboy: ABR on the front, and a cowboy riding a tape recorder on the back.

And True Crime?

Is there a live show design?

Yes. Armchaired & Dangerous Live prints a Los Angeles skyline and the date of the live show at The Wiltern, February 17, 2022, with a crossed-out December date above it.
